Early life and education
Adil grew up in a well-established Muslim family in the city. His mother, Mumtaz Durrani, is a homemaker, while details about his father remain unknown. Adil has one elder sister, Shelly Lather, who is an entrepreneur.
Durrani completed his schooling at Marimallappa’s High School in Mysore. He later pursued a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) from Vidhyaashram First Grade College in Mysore. In 2017, he completed his education and immediately ventured into the business world. He has since gained a reputation in Mysore for his entrepreneurial activities, especially in the automotive and food industries.
Career
Adil Khan began his professional career by working in the car trade business. He joined StreetCars Premium in Mysore, a dealership specializing in selling used cars. In 2018, he expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio by establishing an ice-cream parlor, DezertLab, in Mysore, Karnataka. The same year, he launched his own car business, A.D. Think, Feel, Drive., which deals with luxury and premium vehicles.
Adil also manages his family’s coffee plantation business in Coorg and has been involved in land development projects. His diverse business interests have helped him build a significant presence in Mysore’s commercial landscape. He is also known to have participated in state-level shooting competitions, highlighting his interests outside of business.
Personal life
Durrani’s personal life has been marked by controversies, primarily due to his relationship with actress and dancer Rakhi Sawant. The couple first gained public attention in 2022 when Rakhi revealed their romantic relationship. On May 29, 2022, Adil and Rakhi reportedly had a secret Nikah (Muslim marriage ceremony), which they kept private for several months. However, in January 2023, Rakhi publicly disclosed their marriage, posting wedding pictures on social media.
Their relationship faced turbulence in early 2023 when Rakhi Sawant filed an FIR against Adil, accusing him of mishandling her funds while she was in the Bigg Boss Marathi house. She also blamed him for not providing timely financial assistance for her mother’s surgery, which she claimed led to her mother’s death. Rakhi further accused Adil of having an extramarital affair with a model named Tanu Chandel.
In February 2023, Adil Khan was accused of rape by an Iranian student in Mysore. The FIR included charges of cheating, blackmail, and threats. Adil responded to the allegations by claiming that Rakhi had orchestrated the accusations by paying the girl to implicate him.
In March 2024, Adil married Somi Khan, a private-sector employee, marking his second marriage after his split with Rakhi Sawant.
