Early life and education

Jigisha emerged from a Brahmin middle-class lineage where Mewari echoed within the confines of her home. Her mother, a government educator, profoundly influenced her upbringing. Despite the conventional parental dreams steering towards professions in medicine or engineering, Jigisha charted her course in the realm of arts.

She attained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, subsequently acquiring a Master’s degree in English Literature. Her scholarly odyssey further encompassed studies at the Faculty of Management Studies, MLSU, and Shree Jee Public School, culminating in a postgraduate degree in Biology.

Career

Jigisha Joshi is the visionary behind ‘Kutumb,’ an endeavor committed to preserving traditional customs, music, festivals, and values. Through this platform, she strives to protect the rich cultural heritage she perceives as gradually fading away.

Her career trajectory shifted significantly when she began sharing videos of her singing. Despite encountering initial resistance from her family, her father, an NSD alumnus, and a theater enthusiast, eventually acknowledged her talent after one of her videos garnered considerable popularity. This newfound support propelled Jigisha to pursue her passion with greater fervor, resulting in her winning twenty-three awards during her college years. Her unforgettable performance at the Nathdwara temple during Diwali stands as a testament to her growing influence in folk music.

Personal life

Jigisha’s personal life is profoundly shaped by her role model, her mother, who instilled in her the significance of Indian culture and traditions. With her father often posted out of town, her mother became the pivotal figure in her upbringing. Jigisha also attributes much of her success to her teacher, Vinita Rathore, who identified her talent and motivated her to hone it. Recently, Jigisha became engaged to Mukul Vyas, a doctor by profession.
